The Rust Belt is a film documentary about America’s industrial past, its postindustrial future, and social entrepreneurship.
“I received a grant in 2010 to study postindustrialism in America. I spent two years living in the Midwest and Northeast, photographing former industrial sites, The Rust Belt, visiting cities, towns, libraries, people and asking questions about what happened to American industry and why. I then examined the reality of the New Economy, the start of which coincided with my rise and fall economically as a freelance writer and journalist in New York City. I was then led to a new movement of social entrepreneurs and conscious capitalists. Now I’m telling that story and the future.” –Kevin Giordano
