President’s Attempts to Spur U.S. Manufacturing

Pittsburgh Field USSThe following are links to stories on President Obama’s efforts to encourage U.S. manufacturing. However, spending millions of dollars in federal money to invest in research projects is a poor remedy for ailing U.S. manufacturing jobs. This is no attack on our president. Only the actual company and its members can choose to hire U.S. workers or to build in America. The president’s influence is simply that, an influence but it is not in anyway a guarantee, and with millions of dollars at stake, that is a high risk. Only the companies themselves can choose to hire and/or manufacture in the U.S. The claim from the president is that this will spur growth–eventually–but this is dubious and questionable. And at the cost of millions of dollar, seems unreasonable.
